flight to Israel

Traveling to Israel just got cheaper! Here’s how you can do it

In the last year, we’ve seen a significant impact on flight availability to Israel and pricing due to the  security concerns of many air lines. We are happy to see the Israeli government has finally addressed this issue and is providing the solution we at Israel Connection Tours had suggested a while ago on reducing flight costs to Israel

Many major airlines, such as American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Ryanair, Swiss, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, United Airlines and more, have temporarily suspended their flights to Israel. Most airlines canceled flights for just a few weeks, but others, like American Airlines or EasyJet, canceled all flights to Israel until March of 2025. These cancellations, often driven by safety considerations, have left travelers seeking alternative routes. While the exact timelines for the resumption of regular flight schedules vary, it’s important to stay updated with the latest information from the airlines themselves

One of the most pressing concerns for travelers has been the surge in the price of airline tickets during periods of heightened tension in the region. Critics have accused airlines of exploiting the situation to inflate fares and capitalize on increased demand. While it’s difficult to control market trends entirely, the Israeli government has taken steps to address this issue.

In response to public outcry, Nir Barkat, the Israeli Economy Minister, convened a meeting with the CEOs of Israeli airlines to discuss the pricing concerns. The goal was to establish a more equitable and transparent pricing structure for flights to and from Israel. As a result of these discussions, it was agreed that a fixed price for flights would be implemented by the end of 2024.

While direct flights may be limited, there are numerous connecting options available through neighboring countries. The Minister of Economy reached an agreement with the Israeli airline El Al to charge a fixed price to and from 4 different popular locations, with thousands of international flights departing each week. This provides travelers with flexibility and choice, even when direct routes are unavailable.

The fixed prices on El Al for a round trip until the end of 2024:

  • Larnaca $199
  • Athens $299
  • Vienna $349
  • Dubai $349

Despite recent cancellations, several airlines besides the local Israeli air line continue to offer flights to Israel. These include: Wizz Air, Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways, Emirates and more.
